Softstart Business and Technology Incubator NPC is a non-profit company in Midrand, Gauteng, which exists to stimulate, grow and launch early-stage technology innovation-based businesses.

Who we are

Guidance, infrastructure and strategic linkages.

Softstart BTI was established in 2006 with the prime objective of providing guidance to techno-preneurs, and of nurturing the concepts and development of technology-driven SMMEs to help them survive and grow through the start-up period.

We provide an integrated package of workspace, shared office services, access to specialised equipment and value-added business support that helps entrepreneurs build sustainable, competitive ventures.

Softstart BTI has the full support and sponsorship of the SEDA Technology Programme, a programme of the Small Enterprise Development Agency under the Department of Small Business Development.

Level 1 B-BBEE contributor

We are a Level 1 B-BBEE contributor, carrying a 135% B-BBEE procurement recognition level as per the Codes of Good Practice on Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment.

Softstart BTI has the full support and sponsorship of the SEDA Technology Programme, a programme of the Small Enterprise Development Agency under the Department of Small Business Development.

A Board with four sub-committees

Softstart BTI is governed by a Board which plays an oversight role, supported by four sub-committees: Audit, Finance and Risk; Human Resources; Enterprise Development; and Land Development.

We have a footprint of entrepreneurs operating throughout South Africa, and links into Africa and beyond through our hub partners. We also work with partners to develop, drive and spearhead the Fourth Industrial Revolution in South Africa.
